The foundation of my education and training is in a humanistic and existential framework. In the therapy process I focus on how choices are made within the context of limits imposed by life circumstances. Client goals center on increasing the sense of both freedom and responsibility in creating a meaningful place in the world. Expression of emotions and thoughts as they relate to the material uncovered is encouraged and respected.

I have acquired a specialization in the treatment of children and adolescents, largely through exposure to the methods developed by Violet Oaklander, Ph.D. (author of "Windows to Our Children"). Using expressive tehcniques such as drawing, puppets, sand tray and games, I work to create an environment where children can demonstrate their experience of life and develop a sense of their significance.

In addition I assist parents in the management of tantrums, strong wills and the ubiquitous "bad attitude."
