Dr.
Given is the Past-President of the California Psychological Association.
He is on Active Staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and has been in
practice in Santa Barbara since 1984. He has a diverse practice in which
he provides psychotherapy, psychological assessment and consultation services
to individuals, couples, families, employers and the courts.
Dr. Given provides brief treatment that is goal-directed and solution-focused. While treating a wide variety of problems, he has sub-specialized in the treatment of anxiety disorders. In addition he has given many presentations on various topics including stress, anxiety and anger management; shame; parenting; parent/adolescent conflict; marriage enrichment and the integration of faith and psychology.
