Lisa Firestone, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist and the Director of Research and Education at the Glendon Association as well as an adjunct faculty and clinical supervisor at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Since 1987, she has been involved in clinical training and applied research in the areas of suicide and violence. These studies resulted in the development of the Firestone Assessment of Self-destructive Thoughts (FAST), the Firestone Assessment of Violent Thoughts (FAVT), and the Firestone Assessment of Suicide Intent (FASI). Dr. Firestone is the co-author of Conquer Your Critical Inner Voice and Creating a Life of Meaning and Compassion and of Sex and Love in Intimate Relationships as well as and of numerous articles and chapters. Dr. Firestone an active presenter at national and international conferences on the topic of assessment of self-destructive and destructive behavior, and the prevention of suicide and violence.
